A commitment to high standards is recognised by the fact that membership of Ascot Brass is by invitation only, and that full membership invariably follows a period of associate membership. However, guest players are welcome at rehearsals, which are held on most Fridays at 7.45pm in Maidenhead, Berkshire, at either St Joseph's Church, Cookham Road [sat nav SL6 7EG], or the Salvation Army hall in East Road [SL6 1PJ] – it's always a good idea to check with Ray Ayres (below).

A cornetist at the Salvation Army's Manchester Star Hall at the age of eight, Bryan developed an interest in composition within the Army, later studying at Trinity College of Music. His many years' experience as a brass and choral trainer, and as a player, has run in parallel with a career in the London Fire Brigade.
