The first Ascot Brass public engagement since resuming rehearsals in May was a bandstand concert in Alexandra Gardens, Windsor, on 12 September. The weather was fine, the park was well populated, and the band was complete and playing very well. The reduced noise from Heathrow air traffic was welcome. A number of people came up to the bandstand to voice their appreciation, and the collection on behalf of Thames Hospice did well. Altogether it was a very enjoyable return to public performance for all concerned.
