Marlow: concert in support of Rotary charities

A full audience at All Saints Church in Marlow was entertained by Ascot Brass and co-performers the Harmony Belles ladies' choir on 12th October, raising funds for Rotary Club charities.

The band's programme opened with Ascot by Ricks van der Velde - a lively march with plenty of twiddly bits, written for another band, now adopted by ourselves! Solos were performed by Mark Dallas (Cornet), with Belstedt's variations on Napoli; Kim Hollamby (Euphonium), playing Lament from Stabat Mater; and Chris Hill (Flugel Horn), with Alan Fernie's arrangement of What a Wonderful World. Other highlights included Peter Graham's arrangement of New Zealand melody Hine e Hine and another Fernie arrangement of Bernstein's America. The band rounded off with the pacy Norman Bearscroft march Temple 85.
